The operating system for optical retail — built in India, made for the world.
Optical retail is one of the most workflow-heavy categories in modern commerce. Prescriptions, lens packages, lab orders, vendor catalogs, multi-store inventory, GST compliance, and customer follow-ups all collide on the same counter. OpticPOS exists to make that counter calm.
We’re optical store owners — not a software company.
Three generations of our family have run optical stores in Warangal and Jangaon, Telangana — over 60 years of combined retail experience across the counter. We’ve ordered tens of thousands of lenses, watched lab partners come and go, talked through prescriptions with worried parents, and balanced the books at the end of every quarter. OpticPOS wasn’t built in a lab — it was built behind a counter.
We didn’t set out to be a software company. We set out to solve our own daily problems — the wrong axis on a delivery slip, the lab that “forgot” the AR coating, the second-pair customer who slipped through follow-up. After building something that finally worked for our own stores, other Telangana opticians asked us to share it. That’s how OpticPOS became a product.
We still run those stores. The roadmap is shaped by problems we encountered yesterday — not by surveys or focus groups. When you sign up, you’re not buying software from a vendor; you’re joining a workflow that’s been pressure-tested on real Saturday rushes.
“Every screen in this product was designed at a billing counter — not at a whiteboard.”
Optical store owners deserve better than billing software.
Every feature shipped here started as a real bottleneck in a real shop — from PD measurement to lab status to vendor reorders. We ship what moves the needle, not what looks good in a deck.
POS, prescriptions, lab workflow, vendor marketplace, loyalty, and reports live in the same database. No webhooks to break, no CSV bridges to maintain, no “did you sync?” at end of day.
Next.js, MongoDB Atlas, role-based access, cloud-native from day one. Designed to run lean for a single shop or scale calmly to a multi-store chain.
Pay for what you use. Lab workflow, vendor marketplace, and growth tools come standard — they’re core to the product, not paywalled add-ons.
Modern optical retail is a growth business, not a billing one.
The shops that win in the next decade won’t be the ones with the cheapest software — they’ll be the ones who source faster, fit better, follow up smarter, and turn every first-time customer into a family relationship. OpticPOS is the platform built for that long game.
